Daydream uses Apple Intelligence to shop camera roll photos
Fashion discovery app Daydream has integrated Apple Intelligence to let iPhone users shop directly from their camera rolls and search for clothing using Siri without opening the app.

Fashion discovery platform Daydream has introduced two new capabilities built on Apple's iOS 27 developer tools, enabling deeper integration with on-device AI. The updates allow users with an iOS 27-compatible iPhone and Siri AI enabled to find and purchase clothing directly from their saved photos or via voice commands. By leveraging Apple Intelligence, the free app aims to streamline the digital shopping experience by removing the friction of manual search.
The first feature utilizes Apple's image-context technology to analyze screenshots or photos in a user's library. Daydream scans the image, isolates individual garments or accessories, and matches them against its catalog of approximately 3 million products. If an exact match from retailers like Anthropologie, Uniqlo, or Gucci is unavailable, the system suggests similar alternatives. Users can also request modifications, such as asking for a specific item in a different color. The second feature integrates with Siri, allowing users to initiate personalized searches by voice without opening the Daydream app, utilizing a "Style Passport" that tracks sizes, budgets, and brand preferences.
For mobile developers and e-commerce product managers, Daydream's implementation serves as a blueprint for utilizing Apple's latest developer tools to build seamless, cross-surface experiences. Rather than forcing users to navigate a standalone application, the integration meets consumers where they already browse, such as Instagram or Pinterest. Daydream, which launched last year and now boasts over 1.5 million shoppers alongside 10,000 brands and 325 retailers, views this as a stepping stone. According to co-founder and CEO Julie Bornstein, the ultimate goal is creating a "shopping agent that understands someone's style" across all areas of their digital life.
