Bolt.new Launches Bolt Forge with 50x More Free Usage
Bolt.new launched Bolt Forge, a coding agent offering Pro users 50 times more usage in exchange for sharing development data to train a trillion-parameter open-weight model with Arcee AI.
The AI application builder Bolt.new has introduced Bolt Forge, a research preview of an opt-in coding agent powered by open-weight models. Through October 14, 2026, individual Pro subscribers, who pay $25 monthly under annual billing, can access a Forge allowance up to 50 times their standard usage limit at no extra cost. In exchange, users must consent to share their prompts, code, and detailed software-building traces to help train a new trillion-parameter open-weight model in partnership with Arcee AI.
Forge routes tasks across several open-weight models, using GLM 5.3 Flash as its default. Users can also select GLM 5.3 or experimental options like Kimi K3 and DeepSeek v4 Pro, though the experimental models consume the Forge allowance at a faster rate. In Bolt's internal September 2026 Build Index benchmark, the Forge lineup achieved a score of 92.2, reaching 91 percent of the 101.0 score posted by the Claude Opus 5 model.
The partnership with Arcee AI, developer of the Apache 2.0-licensed Trinity model family, aims to launch its first training run in October 2026. The collected data includes valuable fix traces—the sequence of edits, errors, and repairs that occur during development—which are rarely found in public repositories. Bolt filters out secrets and personal information before sending data to Arcee AI. To protect privacy, Teams and Enterprise workspaces are entirely excluded from Forge and all data collection. The system keeps costs manageable by running development environments directly in the browser using StackBlitz's WebContainers technology.
Alongside the Forge preview, Bolt is introducing Bolt Lite, a $9 monthly subscription tier designed for students and side projects. The waitlist for this cheaper plan closes on October 14, 2026, and admitted users will retain the discounted price indefinitely. Forge usage is tracked on a separate monthly meter, and users who hit 100 percent capacity are automatically reverted to the Standard agent without facing any overage fees.
